Mrs.
Margaret C. Hazelett, a native of Tiffin, Ohio, graduated from the Riverside
School of Nursing and taught nursing at the Riverside School of Nursing,
Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Mary Manse College with a B.A. in Education,
and a B.S. in Nursing. She also received an M.A. and an M.S. in Education from
The Ohio State University.
She
taught fourth grade and was the Reading Coordinator for the Marion City
Schools. She interned as a School Psychologist at the Betty Jane Center,
Tiffin, Ohio, and served as a School Psychologist for The Marion City Schools
prior to retirement in 1992. Hazelett has worked every year as a licensed
Psychologist in a school district on an as needed basis since retirement. She
has been in private practice since 1972, owning her own Psychological Services
in Marion, Ohio. She specializes in school related problems as well as special
needs of children, focusing on the Learning Disabled Student, and The
Developmentally Handicapped Child.
Marge
has taught psychology for The Ohio State University Marion Campus for over
thirty-five years. She has taught the following courses: How to Study, General
Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Test and Measurements, Developmental
Psychology, Exceptional Children, Developmental Disabilities, and Educational
Psychology. She is currently also serving as the Disability Specialist for The
Ohio State University Marion Campus.
Mrs.
Hazelett is very active in the community and serves on several boards as well
as chairing fund raisers for the Junior Service Guild. She is a Board member
for the Lecture Recital Music Club, and facilitator and board member for the
Low Vision Group of Marion County.
Professionally,
she is a member of the American Psychological Association, Ohio Psychological
Association, Ohio School Psychologist Association, North Central School
Association, AHEAD, TACCLD, NASSP, DeltaKappa Gamma,
Phi Delta Kappa, Northamerican Association of Masters
in Psychology, and Wild Child in Marion County. She has served on the board of
most of these organizations as chair, secretary, silent auction chair or chair
of the facility/food for School Psychology. Marge received the Clyde V.
Bartlett Distinguished Service Award for OSPA, May 1990, as well as many awards
for outstanding contributions and leadership in various community and
professional organizations.
Hazelett
was married to the late Hal Hazelett, former Mathematics Instructor and a
founder of the OSU Marion Campus. She loves the theater, musicals, interior
decorating, remodeling of homes, and she has a passion for antique cars (Marge
is the proud owner of a '57 Chevrolet). She loves to travel, and get together
with the family.
